This is what was waiting for us outside our back door this morning. I've seen the balloons over my studio before but this one was the closest yet. Somehow the photograph made it look further away than it seemed in person. The balloon was so close that we could see the people in the basket waving at us and hear them shouting hello. Just one of the many things I love about living in the Napa Valley.....carrie saxlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16501104787173831110noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8863680858572622486.post-62173926595232357982012-03-30T17:35:00.000-07:002012-03-30T17:35:13.677-07:00Birthdays and Butterflies<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxOEu3DV2y31j274XDYTRTTNHRededLFM9ILVUZ78_1LICbFpmp8J9EcOnWmkythWuYMqgq04E3CUROm-XaG_javpML06NejNdaUMzFmFPDbPRvtrwSJV5OUN0hTDiSAwyraaJVUvNe1o/s1600/charlies_birthday.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxOEu3DV2y31j274XDYTRTTNHRededLFM9ILVUZ78_1LICbFpmp8J9EcOnWmkythWuYMqgq04E3CUROm-XaG_javpML06NejNdaUMzFmFPDbPRvtrwSJV5OUN0hTDiSAwyraaJVUvNe1o/s640/charlies_birthday.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

It's been years since I've visited my hometown zoo and I was instantly transported back to grade school by the familiar sounds and sites of the petting farm and chimp house. We spent the entire morning touring the newest additions to the park including a world class gorilla habitat and cat house. How lucky you Kansan's are to have this stunning resource right in your backyard :)carrie saxlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16501104787173831110noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8863680858572622486.post-79758445028994385752010-12-07T10:39:00.000-08:002011-11-30T13:52:42.806-08:00a glimpse......<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sp1Uxcl6qcQ/TtakjpauAfI/AAAAAAAAApY/hcqQmb08AxI/s1600/dc_booth_montage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sp1Uxcl6qcQ/TtakjpauAfI/AAAAAAAAApY/hcqQmb08AxI/s640/dc_booth_montage.jpg" width="467" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_FKJrfiJCRUE/TP59TKZQTmI/AAAAAAAAAjM/-iFtyu57XM4/s1600/dc_booth_montage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">Believe it or not this was what our kitchen looked like for nearly two years before we finally got around to renovating it (we did have upper cabinets and less holes in the wall but I didn't start documenting the process until some of the demo had started). It's difficult to really capture the true grit and filth of the shabby linoleum and aging grout with the camera but you get the basic idea. We became experts at preparing meals with only a hotplate and toaster oven and wasted precious hours of our lives waiting for water to boil. Needless to say we couldn't be more thrilled to have upgraded to this.........</span></td></tr>
